This month PLUMBCARE has replaced entirely free of charge:-
A 125 litre unvented hot water cylinder for Mr. Derek W. of Stoneleigh Avenue, Patcham, a PLUMBCARE member for nine years. The replacement item was a Megaflo indirect 125 litre unvented cylinder from Heatrae Sadia (www.heatraesadia.com) The item costs £895 and the fitting charge would normally be in the region of £300 plus VAT so in this instance Mr. W. saved a total of £1247.50p by his membership of PLUMBCARE.
A ten year old Potterton Envoy condensing boiler was replaced for Mr. Peter L. of Saffrons Park, Eastbourne. This boiler has a boiler control circuit board that costs over £300 to replace and the boiler is known to suffer from condensate water forming in the heat exchanger as well as condensate leaking from gaiters and seals around the heat exchanger. PLUMBCARE therefore decided that it was in our best interest to replace the boiler rather than carry out a very expensive repair and still have a boiler prone to failure. The boiler replacement would have cost Mr. L. £1500.00p had he not belonged to PLUMBCARE.
A thirty year old GlowWorm spacesaver boiler was replaced for Mr. David L. of Boughey Place, Lewes. This old boiler was a conventional flue (chimney) model in the centre of the house with gravity hot water and a combination hot and cold water storage tank. Due to current regulations it is not possible to replace this boiler with a similar one. PLUMBCARE had to carry out large scale alterations to the heating and plumbing systems and fit a combination boiler, giving Mr. L. the possibility of reclaiming all the space that the water tanks had taken up. All this work was carried out free of charge and would have cost Mr. L. well over £2000.00p had he not belonged to PLUMBCARE for ten years.

Two bathrooms in Rottingdean for Mr. Ian B., one of which is marble tiled floor and wall tiles with marble countertops by MTA Stonemasons, Laughton. (www.sussexstone.co.uk) and using a Matki recessed walk-in shower enclosure (www.matki.co.uk)
New boiler and other heating work as well as new bathroom, cloakroom and numerous alterations for Mr. Richard B., Houndean Rise, Lewes.
